B3B is a 10 mL vial of Micrococcus luteus (previously Sarcina lutea) live broth. 

M. luteus is a Gram-positive, spherical bacterium, found in soil, dust, water and air, and as part of the normal flora of mammalian skin.

It also colonises the human mouth, mucous membranes, oropharynx and upper respiratory tract. 

M. luteus can grow well in environments with little water or high salt concentrations.
