Unit Size Kit
Grades 8–12. For a class of 32 students. If you need a quick monohybrid genetics lab, this is it. Activities can be completed in as little as 3 days. By germinating the seed disks, students working in groups of 4 study the inheritance of purple color through 3 generations of plants.
Students also study a monohybrid cross that begins with a homozygous purple stem plant and a homozygous non-purple stem plant. In the 1st activity students prepare seed disks for germination in petri dishes. In the 2nd activity they observe the seedlings and collect and analyze data.
