Ideas for playing Clever Catch®
The basic Clever Catch
play is simple. Two or more players toss the ball to each other and
answer the question found under their left thumb. However, you can
make all kinds of variations to suit your class requirements. For
example:
-
Have the teacher toss the ball to
students who answer the question under their left thumb.
-
Have students toss the ball to the
teacher who asks the thrower a question.
-
Have two or more Clever Catch titles in
use to add some uncertainty about the topic.
-
Vary the rule for selecting a question
- left thumb, right middle finger, etc.
-
Form two teams and have players line up
opposite each other and toss the Clever Catch ball back and forth.
-
Form a circle of individual players who
can toss to each other.
-
Toss to each player in order or draw
names at random to decide who will be the next catcher.
-
Change from the catcher answers the
question to the catcher asks the question.
-
Try time trials - which team can answer
an agreed number of questions in the least time.
-
Provide suitable prizes as an
incentive.
With
Clever Catch, there is almost no end to the ways you can challenge, excite
and motivate your students. |
