Immune III - Antibody-Mediated Immunity

Antibody-mediated (or humoral) acquired immunity is activated against a specific intruder.  Colourful artistic renditions show how macrophages and dendritic cells initiate the process by presenting the antigens of the invading microbe to Helper T cells.  This leads to the formation of Activated B cells and Plasma cells that release antibodies specific for the invading microbe, and results in its destruction.  The initial antibody-mediated response is slow, but subsequent exposure is dealt with more rapidly.
