Phylum Cnidaria

On display are three Classes of Cnidaria:

Class Hydrozoa has examples of colonial Hydrozoa (Obelia), and solitary Hydrozoa (Hydra in the polyp stage), and a Hydromedusa (Polyorchis in the medusa stage).

Class Scyphozoa has examples of the common medusa form, Moon Jellyfish and Mangrove Jellyfish, and a polypoid stage of Strobila showing the process of strobilation.

Class Anthozoa includes the corals and sea anemones found only in polypoid stage.  A close up image shows details of polyps found on Sea Fan coral.
