Phylum Porifera

Sponges are found in a wide variety of forms.  Some of the following examples are displayed in large colourful photographs: Bath sponge, Glass sponge, Boring sponge, Red Fan sponge, Vase sponge, Finger sponge, Tube sponge and Encrusting sponge.  There is also a close up of a sponge pore with a detailed description the process of food particle filtering and filtered water release through the osculum.
