Pond III, Photosynthetic Microlife

Many clear photographs showing the variety of photosynthetic microlife found in fresh water.  Vascular plants such as Duckweed are easily seen with the naked eye.  Most other cells are displayed at magnifications 100x to 400x.  Cyanobacteria on display include Nostoc, Anabaena, Merismopedia and Gloeocapsa.  Euglenoids include Euglena, Phacus and Trachelomonas.  Diatoms shown include: Cymbella, Melosira, Asterionella, Stephanodiscus and Pinularis.  Unicellular, Colonial, Filamentous and Desmid Green Algae are also shown and include Chlamydomonas, Volvox, Spirogyra and Closterium.
