Nervous Tissue

Nine colour photomicrographs of the various types of nervous tissue. These include:

• Peripheral nerve in cross section with labelled Axon and Nerve fibre, and in greater detail a longitudinal section of nerve fibres showing a node of Ranvier.

• Motor neuron at 500x magnification with labelled Axon, Dendrites and nucleus of neuroglial cell.

• Spinal Cord cross section (36x Magnification) and close-up (450x magnification) labelled for the following; Grey matter, White matter, Central canal, Posterior grey horn, Anterior grey horn, Anterior root, Posterior root, Posterior root ganglion, Meninges and Motor neuron cell body.

Other plates include:

Neuromuscular Junction, Purkinje cells, Pyramidal cells and Posterior Root Ganglion.
